As I stand at the crossroads of my career, I’m excited to announce the beginning of what I call “Phase 2.” This week marks a significant milestone as I bid farewell to SlideShare.net and set my sights on new horizons. The rapidly evolving landscape of the internet, with its short product lifecycles and soaring web valuations, has ignited a fire within me to explore my own ideas – and trust me, there are plenty!

Lessons from SlideShare

The past 8 months at SlideShare have been nothing short of transformative. The internet truly is an incredible playground for learning and innovation, and my time here has been a testament to that. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside an exceptional team, pushing boundaries and creating remarkable things.

A Shoutout to an Incredible Team

I owe a debt of gratitude to my teammates, each bringing their unique strengths to the table:

  • Lalit: Our JavaScript guru
  • Saurabh: The systems mastermind
  • Kapil: The best tech lead one could ask for
  • Mayank: Cool developer and stock market aficionado
  • Kaa: A wellspring of creativity
  • Yats: Our zen master
  • Golak: The “bhalo” (good) developer
  • Abhishek*: One of the most motivated individuals I’ve met
  • Praveen*: The guilt-free development guru
  • Gaurav: Our domain-sitting expert
  • Mohit: The analytical thinker
  • Bhups: A recent addition with potential

(*These talented individuals moved on from SlideShare a couple of months ago)

Memories and Missed Opportunities

While the experience has been incredible, I do regret missing out on team trips. My absence from group photos is notable – perhaps it’s time for some creative Photoshop work to rectify that! 😉

A special thanks goes out to Amit Ranjan and the management team for the opportunity to work with such an outstanding group. Here’s to SlideShare’s continued success and rising Alexa rank!

Looking Ahead

As I embark on this new chapter, I’m filled with excitement about the possibilities that lie ahead. The tech world is brimming with opportunities, and I’m eager to contribute my skills and ideas to new ventures.

A Return to Regular Blogging

On a practical note, I’m happy to report that my blogging frequency will improve. I’ve finally solved the mystery of my slow upload speeds – turns out it was just a matter of adjusting the MTU size on my WiFi router from 1500 to 1492. Three cheers for troubleshooting and Airtel Broadband!

As I close this chapter and open another, I’m grateful for the experiences, friendships, and knowledge gained. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh challenges, and the endless possibilities that the world of tech startups has to offer. Stay tuned for more updates on my journey through the exciting landscape of web development and entrepreneurship!
